Chocolate Factory Creative Workshop Team Building

Using innovative ideas, through engaged employees to become truly customer focused.

The Creative Connection aims to show the importance of creating a: customer focus, engaged employees and creative re design process, in a way that demonstrates the power of all three being fully integrated. The Chocolate Factory simulation is a unique hands-on experiential learning simulation (and team building program) that demonstrates the power of effective creative design and strategic implementation. Using both game theory and gamification, the program simulates the problems of a non-productive company, and addresses the connected issues of customer dissatisfaction, customer centricity, change management, staff morale, leadership, silos, accountability, and organizational processes (as relevant) in a safe environment. Through using unique CSI (creativity / design thinking) tools, participants learn to analyze the current state of a dysfunctional factory, and to identify potential parallels in their own business. Participants are then shown how to redesign and trial a workable desired state, and as a result they experience how the factory can improve its efficiency by up to 200% with simple creative solutions. This learning becomes a powerful ‘ah-ha’ moment as they discover all the connected elements that lead to truly breakthrough innovations. The Chocolate Factory shows how results can skyrocket when the following 3 elements are effectively connected through smart design:

  1. A True Customer Focus – leading to a deeper appreciation of the importance of understanding the key elements of a successful design thinking process by putting the customer at the center of all solutions, and building this into the DNA of all departments not just the customer service front facing teams.
  2. Intrinsically Engaged Employees – showing the relationship of how engaged teams are much better at finding real solutions
  3. Effective Innovation Processes – discovering the power of creative thinking to look for both incremental and big breakthroughs.

Through exposure to immediate breakthrough results, the group then identifies how they can find innovative solutions and improve systems and processes in their own organization. The deep dive lab “Solutions” session can help the teams apply this to their own leadership and workplace with actionable business takeaways.

By empowering all people at all levels and encouraging them to contribute to the creative development process, individuals become inspired and equipped for positive transformation and in the process discover that it is possible to go beyond incremental improvements and impact a whole culture. With the optional accompanied deep dive inclusive integrated workshop (using The CSI Creative Scene Investigation tools), participants can also learn to analyze their processes and are shown how to do a simple redesign comparing current & desired states. Discover why South West Airlines has such a profitable faster plane turnaround time than any other airline company, along with motivated customer focused staff, how a small chain supermarket competes with the big players, and see how simple it was for us to help staff dramatically reduce bank queuing times and build customer centric DNA?

With other fascinating case studies from Formula One to Netflix, see how innovation makes it possible to empower everyone in the organization to start doing things faster, better and cheaper. When it comes to workplace issues, it is essential for everyone to understand how to find more efficient paths to improve effectiveness, delight the customer and empower the staff – all from one great experiential learning simulation.

The Chocolate Factory is experiential learning revolving around the production of chocolates that simulates the problems of productivity and encourages finding innovative solutions through employee engagement.

Memorable theme: Chocolate. Beyond being a gimmick, this session shows how chocolate and innovation go hand in hand. Without innovation none of us would be eating chocolate. Instead we’d be drinking a frothy foam drink hand made by local Mayans! When production of chocolate first started it was a slow, tedious and costly process. Thanks to customer driven, engaged staff and creative thinking, we now all get to eat chocolate.
